The small tealette lay soundly asleep, soft snores coming through her nose. It was dark and nightly, 12:30am to be exact. The small child rolled in her sleep, a familiar tune playing in the background.
But what was it?
Who was there?
The song had interrupted her dreamy state as her yawned and squirmed, rubbing her eyes to wake herself more. It was a soft humming along with harps and panpipes.
Could this be?
Miku’s eyes widened, “Mama!” She pushed herself off the bed, her little feet pattering against the wooden floor. “Mama!” She called again, excitement filling her voice.
Unfortunately, the lullaby died down and she was left in another dark, empty room. Nobody was here. Her mouth quivered and tears formed in the corners of her eyes.
Not wanting to cry, she ran back to her bedroom and threw herself on the mattress. “Mama,” Miku wailed, “I thought you were here. I miss you!” It had been a long time since Miku-chan was with her parents.
She sniffled, trying to calm herself down. Her thoughts were all jumbled up. Setting herself back down into the covers, she wound her music box up and let the twinkling melody fill her ears.
“Mama, I love you.” With that, Miku rolled over and closed her eyes.
From the corner of the rooom, a transparent figure of the older Miku stood. Her aqua eyes softening, how she wished that she could help her. Within seconds, her form had faded away back into the soul of Miku-chan’s.
“I wish I could be there.. back home.”
